HYDERABAD: Holding the ruling Congress responsible for corruption in the state and the country, leader of the opposition N Chandrababu Naidu declared here on Tuesday that his Telugu Desam party would move a no-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government whenever the state Assembly met.In his inaugural address at the two-day state-level party workshop at NTR Bhavan, the party’s headquarters, he said the TDP would support all efforts to dislodge the government even if made by YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy by proving his strength in the Assembly or by parading his `loyalist MLAs’ before the governor. “The TDP has not gone back on its decision to move the no-confidence motion,” he claimed.Ridiculing the Congress for its `meek response’ to the challenge thrown by MLAs loyal to Jagan, Naidu said both the Congress and YSR Congress were misleading the people and were trying to enter into a deal to target the TDP. The Congress leadership, if had guts, should take action against its rebel MLAs, he demanded. On Telangana the TDP president claimed that his party was committed to its ‘statement’ made at the recent Mahanadu. As all the parties had already placed their views before the Centre and the Srikrishna Committee, it was now for the central government to take a decision."The Congress had no right to criticise others. In fact, The Congress- led UPA government should tender an apology to the people for not taking a decision on the issue. Even the TRS, which is resorting to bankruptcy politics and blackmailing, has no moral right to criticise the TDP.In reality, Andhra Pradesh state, including backward areas of Telangana region, witnessed development during TDP rule. The TRS had no guts to agree to the TDP’s challenge to a debate on the issue,’’ he said.“The Congress is able to survive because of BJP’s obsession with religious politics. Days have changed and parties cannot get votes on the basis of religion.PRP president Chiranjeevi, after making several promises to people to bring about ‘social justice’, has now become a Congress leader and part of the corrupt practices being adopted by the Congress.’’ The TDP supremo criticised the Congress for selecting transport minister Botcha Satyanarayana as PCC president.Congress chief Sonia Gandhi should respond to the allegations levelled by her party MP Harsha Kumar against Botcha.Besides the Volkswagen scam, there were several scams like illegal mining and encroachment of temple and government lands in Vizianagaram district involving Botcha, he alleged. Before winding up his speech, Naidu announced formulation of an action plan for the next one year for the revival of the party’s glory and empowerment of women, youth, minorities and weaker sections. In-charges would be appointed, one for every two parliamentary constituencies, to monitor party activities, Naidu announced.Senior leaders K Yerran Naidu, Y Ramakrishnudu, E Dayakar Rao, D Veerabhadra Rao, MV Mysoora Reddy, N Nageshwara Rao and others were also present. The presence of rebel and NTR’s son Harikrishna on the dais raised a few eyebrows at the meeting.
