CHENNAI: A special counter for astrology is the latest addition to the city’s biggest shopping mall, Express Avenue. Express Star Teller, a stall for counter sales of the monthly magazine, Star Teller, and an astro service counter, was launched today at the mall. Set in the ground floor atrium, next to Gloria Jeans Coffee shop, the stall will be open from 11am to 8pm every day. Astrologers, palmists, gemologists and numerologists will be present on a rotational basis.Executive Editor of Star Teller, Hema Malini Raghunatha, said, “Our editor -in-chief, Kavita Singhania, wants people to be aware of vedic wisdom. Even without scientific instruments, our ancestors were able to predict the movement of the moon. We want to showcase this to the modern generation.”The stall aims at catching the attention of families who come to relax at the mall, said Hema. Speaking about the 19-year-old magazine, she said, “We have a vast readership, which is interested in the content of our magazine. Half of the content focuses on astrology, and the other half on spirituality. We have a column written by Swami Dayanandha Saraswathi. Also, in our January issue, we have an annual forecast of the coming year.”Saroj Goenka, Chairperson of Express Star Teller, inaugurated the stall after a pooja was conducted. Also present were L Ramaswamy, Director of Express Publications Madurai Limited, and RR Aroon Kumar, CFO of Express Infrastructure Private Limited.
