New Delhi: Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is in the centre of another diplomatic incident, this time at the G5-G8 summit. Berlusconi was reportedly snubbed by US President Barack Obama.
As Obama and Berlusconi arrived for a G8 group photo, the Italian Premier offered his hand to the American leader, but Obama reportedly carried on walking, seemingly ignoring the proferred hand.
The White House later clarified that Obama didn't intend any kind of snub to his host.
Berlusconi has been in headlines recently because of his "harem" and has been battling a series of scandals in the weeks leading up to the summit.
At a previous meeting of world leaders, the G20, Berlusconi was accused of raucous behaviour.
