One of seven in Finland Festival

 Award-winning film maker Venu Nair’s latest venture ‘One of Seven’ has been nominated to the sixth edition of the Wildlife Vaasa Festival in Finland.

 The film examines the reasons for Kerala’s food insecurity and how various factors - globalisation, liberalisation, urbanisation, population growth, rising price of fuel and climate change - contributs to upsetting the state’s food security.

 It is estimated that one billion people in the world - or one in every seven human beings - cannot afford the minimum nutrition essential for a healthy life.

 ‘One of Seven’ is an 80-minute film produced by the Environment Department.

 Venu Nair has won several international, national and state awards for his documentaries in the past.

 The Wild Vaasa Festival is conducted biennially to promote nature and science film productions from around the world and will be held in Vaasa from November 21- 25.
