CHENNAI: When the born-and-matured-in-IIT start-up myeasydocs.com promised a supremely easy online verification process for students applying to foreign universities in the West, it stirred up quite a lot of interest. But the applications and reach of the web-based platform have roused interest well beyond the lakhs who venture out abroad every year for higher studies — as seen during a meet and share event on online verification for students, held at IIT-Madras on Friday. Santha Sheila Nair, Vice-Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission, who presided over the event not only appreciated the team and concept behind myeasydocs.com, but also asked them to explore the possibility of providing online verification services for governmental agencies, as the concept matures.Quoting Santha Sheila Nair, Avira Tharakan, Founder and CEO of myeasydocs.com said, “Verification is a huge hurdle that several governmental agencies are facing on almost a daily basis. If the platform works well, it has a tremendous potential and could even be implemented in several government agencies through the next Five Year Plan for the State.” She had also suggested that departments like the police and Civil Supplies Department have a large necessity for quicker verification processes, in this day and age.Returning to the many advantages of myeasydocs.com for students applying to varsities abroad, Tharakan said that their tie-up with ELS International Education Pathways Ltd, which has 650 universities tied in to their fold, will make the process easier for students. “We are also looking at expanding to Europe with strategic partnerships of this nature. It is also completely safe, because the universities will have to undergo a process of authentication before they are shown the documents you have submitted for verification,” he added.
