KOCHI: As part of a drive against the autorickshaw drivers who ply without meters, the city police have booked over 403 drivers on Thursday and Friday. A team led by Traffic Commissioner Muhammad Rafique carried out the checking in the 25 traffic sectors of the city. Around 23 police officers were deployed for this purpose.All autorickshaws were checked as part of the drive that started at 9 am and continued till late in the night. Muhammad Rafique said the drive would continue in the coming days till all autorickshaws in the city operate with meters.In a similar drive carried out last month, over 100 autorickshaw drivers were booked for flouting laws, plying without meter, over-charging and misbehaving with commuters.Muhammad Rafique said the people can file complaints against the auto drivers in the following numbers: Traffic West-04842394218, Traffic East - 0484 244852, Traffic Circle Inspector (West) - 9497987099 and Traffic CI (East)- 9497987100. The complainant has to give the registration number of the autorickshaw, the place and time. Complaints can also be registered in writing at these police stations.
