Jammu: In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops on Monday fired on Indian posts and a forward village along the International Border (IB) in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, leaving a couple injured.
"There was firing from across the border on Indian forward locations in Chachwal border belt in Samba sector at around 1715 hours today", a senior BSF officer told PTI.
BSF troops, guarding the border, fired back resulting in an exchange of fire, he said.
The firing from across the border is still going on, he said adding one villager was injured in the Pak firing.
However, a senior police official in the area said a couple Krishna Devi and Kulwant Singh, who were cutting grass close to their house, were hit by the bullets and injured.
Pakistani troops' action triggered fear among border dwellers.
Due to the firing, the work on uncovering the tunnel into the Indian territory in the same area has also been disrupted.
Pakistan had violated the ceasefire 20 times by firing mortars, rockets and using small arms in less than two months along IB and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
