Pakistani army recruits first Sikh cadet officer

New Delhi: History being made in Pakistan with the first Sikh Army officer being put on duty in the country.

Twenty-one-year old Harcharan Singh from Western Punjab is the first Sikh cadet officer of the Pakistani Army.

He is now deputed to guard the historic Karachi mausoleum of the country's founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

Harcharan Singh first came into the limelight for being the first Sikh to be recruited by the Army, way back in 2005.
