Plastic bags seized during raids

KARAIKAL: Karaikal Sub-Collector J Ashok Kumar carried out surprise raids at various places in the district and seized plastic bags from manufacturing units.The Puducherry Government imposed a ban on plastic articles measuring less than 50 microns size. The district administration had warned the commercial establishments not to use such plastic articles.Kumar inspected various commercial establishments and manufacturing units.From one of the manufacturing units, he seized about 25 kg of plastic bags and ordered action against the unit.The sub-collector has announced that raids will continue.
