HYDERABAD: Justice G.Rohini of the High court on Monday granted interim directions restraining the authorities of municipal administration not to go beyond the Government Order while executing the ban imposed on plastic bags in the twin cities.The judge passed the interim order and called for the response of the GHMC on a batch of writ petitions complaining of harassment by officials. The judge directed that they would not interfere with sale and use of plastic of less than 20 microns.It was complained that officials were raiding all business places of such dealers under the pretext of implementing the ban order made by the state government on April 4.Case against 24 unruly Telangana advocates adjournedA division bench comprising justice VVS Rao and justice Ramesh Ranganathan adjourned by a week the contempt case against 24 advocates, including nine of the High Court.The bench was dealing with a complaint lodged by A.Sivaiah Naidu, registrar of the court. The complaint follows a direction given by a court presided by justice Rao.According to the petition, lawyers from the High Court and district courts raised slogans and indulged in acts of violence, specifically in three court halls, on September 14, 15 and 16 demanding greater representation to Telangana lawyers in the offices of government pleaders and standing counsels. It is reported that the persons arrayed as contemnors were identified specifically by the administrative staff.
