Police to auction unclaimed vehicles

ALUVA: As per the 100-day programme of the UDF Government, Ernakulam Rural District Police decided to auction 97 unclaimed vehicles idling in various station premises under the rural district, rural district chief Harshita Attaluri said here on Monday. Hundreds of vehicles, including motor bikes, auto rickshaws, light vehicles, mini lorries and heavy vehicles, had been seized by police for various offences.The vehicles were parked in the station premises and nearby roads posing menace to the passers by. Very few persons used to report the concerned stations to claim the vehicles. The vehicles are damaged as they were exposed to rain and sun for years. Most of the spare parts of the vehicles were found stolen. However the SP Harshita Attaluri decided to auction the unclaimed vehicles in various stations.The auction of vehicles will be held at the offices of the CI Nedumbassery on August 25, CI Vadakkekara on August 26, CI Perumabavoor on August 27 and CI Kothamangalam on August 31.
