Mumbai: Police on Friday claimed to have made a big breakthrough after recovering a car in which Sheena Bora was allegedly murdered in 2012.

The car, sources say was sold off to a dealer at a cheap price. Police have also asked telecom service providers for the call records between 2012-2015 of all the three accused in the murder case.

Earlier during the day Raigarh SP Suvez Haque said that no case was filed in 2012 when the body was found. "I have been ordered by seniors to inquire all aspects of why a case was not registered earlier," said Haque.

Though Sheena, the daughter of high-profile media professional Indrani Mukerjea, was allegedly murdered in 2012 and her body disposed of in Raigad district, the crime came to light only recently.

The police have arrested Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna, and driver Shyam Rai in the case. Khanna has already confessed to his complicity in the crime.

Sheena's brother Mikhail Bora on Saturday claimed that he was Indrani's target after his sister. "Indrani spiked my drinks on the same day Sheena was murdered," he said.

Meanwhile the police have sent remains found from the forest in Pen tehsil of Raigad for DNA test. Police also continued their interrogation of Indrani, Khanna and the driver to seek more details of the crime and the motive
