PUDUCHERRY: ‘Missing’ Puducherry Education minister P M L Kalyanasundaram reappeared in his office on Monday. This is his first appearance after being charged with engaging a proxy to impersonate him in the SSLC examinations last month.The minister who is said to have come to office on the directions of the Chief minister N Rangasamy who in turn was advised by Speaker V Sabapathy, arrived early and left quickly. This appearance is understood to have been impacted by the Congress and AIADMK which announced cash rewards for providing information on the whereabouts of the minister, whom the police were unable to reach to serve summons as part of investigation. The Youth Congress had put up posters announcing a reward of `1,000 to anyone giving information, while the AIADMK had announced `50,000 for the same.The police had issued two summons for the minister and also approached the Speaker of Assembly on two occasions, but in vain, as no one appeared to know about the minister’s whereabouts.The minister’s appearance comes in the light of the Madras High Court posting the hearing on his anticipatory bail plea on October 28.
