New Delhi: Sacked Uttarakhand Minority Commission chairman Sukhdev Singh Namdhari and his personal security officer Sachin Tyagi were on Thursday sent to 14 days judicial custody in the shootout case of liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep Singh. Namdhari is accused of murder and criminal trespass on Ponty's Chattarpur farmhouse.

Namdhari and Tyagi were remanded to judicial custody till December 13 after Delhi Police said on December 7 that they did not need to further interrogate them. Namdhari has been booked on charges of murder in the case. He had allegedly brought a number of associates, who had assisted Ponty in smooth sailing of his various businesses in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab, with weapons, hockey sticks and baseball bats to facilitate forcible possession of a farmhouse in Chattarpur.

Meanwhile, two aides of Namdhari were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the November's murder cases of Ponty and Hardeep. Simranjeet and Jagbir Singh, both hailing from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case, police said, adding that the total number of arrests now stands at 10.

A .315 bore rifle with seven cartridges and one 12 bore DBBL gun with 10 live cartridges were seized from the duo's possession. Ponty and Hardeep, who had an ongoing property dispute, were killed in a shootout at their Chattarpur farmhouse on November 17.
