New Delhi: After days of intense heat and humidity, Delhiites got a pleasant surprise as they woke up to rain on Tuesday morning.
Although Met officials said that these are only pre-monsoon showers, one can expect more rains through the day.
"These are pre-monsoon showers and there is a possibility of more rain in the capital through the day. Although the humidity level has gone up, the rain has pulled down the temperature," a Safdarjung Met department official said.
The city received 6.8 mm of rainfall from Monday evening until early Tuesday.
And while the humidity level shot up to 66 per cent, the minimum temperature dipped to four degrees below the average at 25 degrees Celsius.
The Met department predicted that the maximum temperature would hover around 35 degrees Celsius.
