Puttaparthi MLA receives doctorate in Chemistry

ANANTAPUR: The thirst for knowledge does not have any barrier, which is proved in the case of Puttaparthi TDP MLA P Raghunatha Reddy, who recently received his doctorate in Chemistry.Despite his busy life as an MLA and owner of a chain of leading educational institutions, Reddy put aside time for studies to get a PhD degree for his research on the impact of sulphur-based drugs in the field of medicine.Reddy who completed his post-graduation in Chemistry, enrolled for research four years ago at the in SK University. He did his research work under the supervision of Prof Suryanarayana. The SKU board of examiners approved Reddy’s thesis and announced his PhD on July 5.It may recalled here the MLA had already received honorary doctorate from a university in Egypt, for his contribution in the political and social service fields.The MLA has also set up an engineering college, seven each degree and Intermediate colleges, 3 each BEd and DEd colleges, one Telugu pundit training and pharmacy college, 3 MBA colleges, 2 MCA colleges and an ITI in the district.
