HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked all district collectors to take utmost care while implementing welfare schemes during the second round of Rachabanda programme which will be held from November 2 to 30. Addressing the collectors through a video-conference from the Secretariat, the chief minister said that during the second round of Rachabanda as many as 35 lakh beneficiaries from Telangana districts would receive benefits worth Rs 1,300 crore.The benefits include Re 1-a-kg rice, five lakh pensions to the aged, disabled and widows, and sanction of six lakh houses to weaker sections.The chief minister asked the collectors in Telangana to simultaneously take up programmes such as Indira Jala Prabha, Mahila Rythu Sadassu, distribution of loans to women under Pavala Vaddi scheme and other schemes.These programmes were not taken up in Telangana because of T strike. Reddy said that during the month-long Rachabanda about 24 lakh coupons would be issued to white ration card holders (Rs 210 crore), pensions to five lakh aged persons, widows and handicapped persons (Rs 140 crore), house allotment letters to six lakh beneficiaries (Rs 3,150 crore). Kiran Reddy also asked the collectors to give more importance to supply of potable drinking water and drought relief measures.
