Mumbai: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma has filed a case of cheating and forgery against music company T-Series claiming that he has been duped of over Rs 46 lakh.
Verma filed a First Information Report naming T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar with the Versova police station late last evening, a senior officer confirmed.
"The case has been filed with us and has been handed over to the Economic Offences Wing for investigations," he said.
Verma and fellow filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt had filed an application with the EOW last month about the cheating and forgery.
Verma said he executed terms of a music distribution rights contract signed between him and T-Series by giving the rights for four of his films to T-Series, police had said earlier.
The director-turned-producer claims that he is being asked to handover the music rights of one more film by T-Series by showing a forged copy of the contract.
