Sabir Ali's inclusion in BJP was not a right step: Ramdev

Amidst raging controversy over expelled JD(U) leader Sabir Ali's joining BJP and subsequent annulment of his membership, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday said his inclusion in the saffron outfit was not a "right step".

The yoga guru, however, clarified that it was his personal view. Ramdev, who was in Lucknow for a signature campaign on issues regarding Bharat Swabhiman Trust, told reporters that BJP should include people only with 100 per cent clean and nationalist image.

Expressing his anger against the ruling Congress, he said he had travelled 30 to 32 kilometres on Saturday and there was angst against the party everywhere, and added that it would not get more than 50 to 60 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Ramdev said there could be a tough contest if strong candidates were fielded against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi from Rae Bareli and Amethi Lok Sabha seats, respectively.

Asked whether he would ever contest elections, the yoga guru said he had taken a resolve never to contest an election.

When asked who between Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi he sees as a better Prime Minister, Ramdev avoided a direct reply saying "the vision of seers was unbiased".
