Kolkata: India's Sania Mirza and Liezel Huber of South Africa did justice to their top billing by cruising into doubles final with a straight set victory over their opponents at the $175,000 WTA Sunfeast Open in Kolkata on Saturday.
The top seeded pair played a flurry of aggressive shots to spank Indonesian Angelique Widjaja and Czech Republic's Hana Sromova 6-3 6-2 in the semi final at the Netaji Indoor stadium.
The Indo-South African team would now lock horns with the third seeded pair of Ukaraine's Yulia Beygelzimer and Yuliana Fedak for the title at the centre court on Sunday.
The Ukrainians have been riding on luck so far, as their opponents in both the second round and the semi final conceded the game due to indisposition.
The semi final on Saturday saw the 30-year old Liezel Huber playing some excellent tennis, particularly in the opening set. She dictated the course of the game and excelled near the net, sending down several good volleys.
Sania, who returned to the court for the doubles leaving behind the disappointment of going down to Martina Hingis in the singles semi final, also picked up in the later stages, unleashing some scintillating winners.
