CHENNAI: Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya distributed educational scholarships worth nearly `10 lakh for physically challenged and economically backward college going students on Tuesday. Kailashmull Dugar, president of Jain Medical Relief Society, presided over the function and distributed the scholarships. Ashok Kedia, the managing trustee of the school was also present.About 1214 students studying in various city colleges such as Pachaiyappas, Loyola, Ethiraj, and Queen Mary’s received the scholarships from the JGVV scholarship centre. “Youngsters should come forward to help the weaker sections of society excel in their lives,” said Dugar at the scholarship distribution function.“I have helped visually challenged students with educational support and women from economically weaker sections of society by providing them with hostel facilities,” he said. Dugar also said that youngsters played a crucial role in shaping the society. “Anna Hazare's movement has become a great success because of youngsters,” he added.
