Security forces kill 10 Maoists in Jharkhand
Jharkhand Police and CRPF have launched a massive operation in Saranda forest against the Maoists.

Ranchi: Ten Maoists have been killed and several rebel camps destroyed in a massive operation launched by security forces in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district since Saturday, police said on Monday.

"Around 10 Maoist have been killed in the operation since Saturday. Bodies of some of the Maoists have been recovered," Jharkhand Director General of Police Neyaz Ahmad told reporters in Ranchi.

Around 2,000 security personnel from the state police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have launched the massive operation in Saranda forest in the district against the rebels.

Three helicopters are being used for surveillance and air-lifting of injured troopers. The operation is likely to continue for the next few days.

Meanwhile, the Maoists triggered blasts at a hostel and panchayat office at Anandpur of the Saranda forest. The police chief said Maoists had detonated around 13 landmine blasts in the last three days.
