Kapil Sibal said that there will be one nation-one licence policy across the country.

New Delhi: Speaking on the new telecom policy on Monday, Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal said that there will be one nation-one licence policy across the country, which means removal of roaming charges. Draft National Telecom Policy 2011 aims for 'one nation-one licence'; targets full MNP and free roaming.

Sibal also said that he wants India to become a hub for telecommunication. "Draft NTP targets broadband on demand," Sibal said.

The draft telecom policy delinks spectrum from licence. According to it, radiowaves will be made available at market price.

Revenue generation for government will have secondary role under draft NTP, Sibal said.

He also said that 300 MHz of spectrum will be made available by 2017 and 200 MHz will be made available by 2020.
