Modi also announced that International Cricket Council approved umpires would officiate the matches.

All matches would be telecast live on Sony SETMAX. The telecast rights for the initial 10 years of the Twenty20 tournament have been sold to Sony Entertainment and Wold Sports Group for $1.03 billion.
