TIRUPATI: Darshan queue lines came to standstill for some time at Srikalahasti temple following a fracas between temple executive officer, N Vijay Kumar and former temple trust board chairman, Kola Anand. When Anand along with his family members and followers was going into temple through VIP queue line, executive officer obstructed entry of one of his followers and demanded a proper ticket. This led to heated arguments between Anand and officer. Police rushed to spot, pacified them and darshan was resumed.Speaking on occasion, Anand came down heavily on executive officer. "It is not proper on part of executive officer to act in such a way with temple's former chairman. I had no objection with officer stopping my follower. But, he should act similarly with all former chairmen. On one hand, EO will invite and favour one former chairman and will act quite the opposite with other ex-chairmen. This is what forced me raise an objection," he pointed out.Explaining about various development activities in temple during his stint as chairman, he said large scale donations including diamond studded crowns to Lord and deity were donated. "Apart from striving for temple development, I never neglected in facilitating hassle-free darshan to local people, which the current temple administration has forgotten completely," he observed and found fault with increase of ticket rates."Acting as dictator, the executive officer is turning this famous shrine into a business enterprise and getting his ‘commission’ in all activities that are going on in the temple, Anand alleged.
