New Delhi: Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss' recent announcement calling for blanket ban on junk food and colas in school and university canteens countrywide has found support from Delhi students who wrote a congratulatory letter to him on Tuesday.

"This landmark policy initiative will positively influence the health of youth in India," a group of Delhi University students said in the letter.

Signatories of the letter include 15 students of the Capital who were part of Global Youth Meet on Health, 2006 (GYM) which was held last month in Delhi.

In the meet, youth from around the world and 11 Indian states participated and formed Youth For Health (Y4H), a health advocacy group.

Y4H aims to launch national and international campaigns on policy issues related to health.
