PALAKKAD: The Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam has called on the public to help Swami Pavithrananda, the head of the Pavithrananda Ashram at Thaliparambu, Kannur who is suffering from kidney failure. The general secretary of the Sabarimala Ayyappaseva Samajam, Pathanamthitta, Kummanam Rajashekharan said in a statement here that though many persons have come forward to donate their kidneys to Swami Pavithrananda, their kidneys did not match, as their kidneys were not ‘O’ positive. It was two-and-a-half years ago that Swamiji’s kidney failure was detected. However, he pulled on, but now the kidney has to be replaced. The doctors have stated that if an ‘O’ positive kidney replaced the non-functional kidneys, he would regain his health. The disciples are ready to donate a kidney to the donor if necessary. At present, Swamiji is admitted to the Sneham hospital under the Sneham Charitable Trust in Muthalamada, where he undergoes dialysis three times a week. The cost of medicines alone comes to Rs 5,000. The statement said that an account in the name of Ayyappa Seva Samajam has been opened at the Dhanalakshmi bank in Pathnamthitta. The account number is 121-1-22894.
