PARADIP: A technical committee, led by Director (technical) of IFFCO, Delhi, KL  Singh interacted with the higher officials of IFFCO plant here  on Tuesday and also visited the spot to find causes behind crumbling of the silo. The team will stay here for four days. Meanwhile, the IFFCO authorities stopped production till the debris from plant site is cleared. Nearly 200 employees, including engineers and experts, have been pressed into the debris removal work. Gas cutters and hydraulic machines are being used to cut steel pillars and asbestos to expedite the debris clearance. Police, on the other hand, took account of the total number of workers to ensure that no one was missing or remained trapped under the debris. Singh interacted with the Paradip unit executive director MR Patel, vice-president (personnel) VB Suri and senior officials and engineers of IFFCO. He along with Director of Factories and Boilers, Odisha, Himansu Sekhar Mohanty visited the spot to inquire into the incident.  Meanwhile, the team also visited all five plants of IFFCO, including sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, DAP/plant, captive power plant and other plants for the assessment of production and their safety.
