Telugu actress sustains injuries, critical

Hyderabad: The condition of Telugu film actress Aarti Agarwal, who had an accidental fall in her house, continues to be critical.

Though she has been taken off the ventilator, doctors say that there could be chances of complications.

Aarti Agarwal sustained serious injuries after she accidentally fell off the stairs at her residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday night.

She had to undergo an emergency craniotomy to remove blood clots in her brain.

Apart from head injuries, the actress sustained multiple fractures in her collarbone, ribs and leg.

She is currently in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and doctors say it might take another four days before she is discharged from the NICU.

Doctors say that Aarti's conditions continues to be critical though she was operated upon at Apollo hospital on Thursday afternoon and a blood clot in the brain removed.

Her father Shashank Agarwal said that they were going out for dinner on Wednesday when she slipped and fell from the staircase.

"We gave her a pain killer and stayed back home. She woke up in the morning and complained of severe headache and dizziness. The family doctor saw her and advised us to shift her to hospital," he added.

But with different versions doing the rounds mystery shrouds the incident.

The nature of injuries she sustained-- a clot in the brain, a broken collarbone, ribs and tibia-- raised doubts.

Aarti had attempted suicide last March by consuming liquid toilet cleaner.
