New Delhi: Thulli Ezhunthathu Kadhal (TEK), a film directed by Sreehari Nannu, has been garnering attention in the industry circles. "The film was actually made as a bilingual in both Tamil and Telugu. Even though we couldn't release the movie here due to the election season, it released as Thakita Thakita in Telugu and became a huge hit," begins the debutant director. And now, its Tamil version, 'Thulli Ezhunthathu Kadhal (TEK), is ready to hit screens.
Along with the 40 new faces, Anushka appears as an actress herself in TEK, while Bhumika will be seen on the silver screen after a long time.
"Today, the public can easily interact with stars, thanks to Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites. That's how a bunch of college students become friends with actress Anushka in the movie," says Sreehari.
The director says the movie is for people in the age group of 15 to 30 and is proud that the movie was discussed so much online by the target audience.
"Youngsters tweeted that they were going to watch the movie for the sixth time. That's the kind of response it got in Telugu," says the director.
Sreehari argues there will be a clear picture of what one should focus on if one knows the target audience. So what is TEK about?
"We need to fulfill some criteria or the other to accomplish everything in life. Now, should one meet certain conditions to fall in love is the question the movie has addressed," says Sreehari. "The message won't be very vivid though. However, it will reach the audience," he adds.
The movie was completed in just 70 days and all the newcomers were trained for a period of three months, according to the director. "Everyone has given their best for this movie and you won’t find them like newcomers," assures Sreehari.
So, what's next?
"It is going to be a romantic love story and in another two months everything will be finalised," he adds.
