Tired of Beating, Agra Woman Electrocutes Sleeping Husband to Death

In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, tired of being beaten up by him eveyday, a 32-year-old woman electrocuted her sleeping husband to death, police said on Tuesday.

According to a TOI report, the accused, Preeti Kushwaha, tied electric wires on her husband, 35-year-old Neeraj Kushwaha’s toes and plugged them into a power socket while he was sleeping. She then and then watched her husband die, police said.

She stayed with his body the entire night. The incident came to light only when the accused went to a local police outpost and asked them to pick up her husband’s body from their home, police added.

The couple has two dauhters aged four and nine years. Preeti confessed to police that she killed her husband by electrocution because he would often come home drunk and beat her infront of her children.

“The woman stayed with the body the entire night. The couple was living on rent with their two daughters — aged four and nine years — in Sadar police limits. Police came to know about the crime when Preeti went to a local police outpost around 10am on Monday and asked them to pick up the body lying at home,” a police office was quoted by TOI as saying.

Sub- inspector, who arrived at the site of the incident first noted that  Neeraj’s body was found tied to a cot in a room and wires were attached to his feet.

“The woman confessed that she killed her husband by electrocution. She claimed that Neeraj would often come home drunk and beat her in front of the children,” DCP, Agra city, Suraj Rai, was quoted by TOI as saying.

Following a complaint by Neeraj’s father, an FIR was registered against Preeti under IPC section 302 (murder) The postmortem report confirmed that Neeraj died due to electrocution.

DCP Rai further stated that the kids are now staying with their grandparents.

Neeraj worked as a vendor at Agra Cantt railway station. He married Preeti from Nagla Padi locality in Agra in 2013.
