CHENNAI: An orientation training programme for assistant professors recruited in February was inaugurated at the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) on Wednesday. Dr V Irai Anbu, Principal Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Training), launched the programme and encouraged the participants to make the best use of it.Forty nine assistant professors were recruited by TANUVAS and are being trained in two batches. The first batch, comprising 25 persons, began their orientation on Wednesday. The programme will go on for 21 days, said Dr R Prabhakaran, Vice Chancellor, TANUVAS.The recruits will be trained on various subjects like education technology, farmer friendly technologies and practices and research methodologies. Special training on personality development and language and communication would also be conducted.
