The expo features a wide range of jewellery, accessories and clothes made by women entrepreneurs from all over the country.  The visitors could also savour Rajasthani sweets and special food items prepared by tribals.Pushpa Fomra, Secretary, All India Mahila Samithi, said main objective in conducting the expo is to make more people aware of Ekal Movement, thereby helping the deprived sections of the society. “The proceeds of the sale would be will be used for the education of the rural and tribal children,” she said.According to S S Damani, chairman, south zone, so far 1,530 villages have been adopted by the NGO in Tamil Nadu alone, of which 840 schools and villages are supported by the Chennai zone.  “Our goal is to establish one lakh schools,” he said and added that the programmes have reached more than 34,000 villages all over the country and around 10 lakh children have been benefited. The bazaar was inaugurated by Srikanta Jhaver, president, FICCI, Ladies Wing.  K Nirmala Prasad, principal, M O P Vaishnav College for Women was the guest of honour.
