Uncle arrested for boys murder

VIJAYAWADA: The mystery behind the death of a 5-year-old boy was unravelled by the police.Nunna inspector Dharmendra said Tarun, son of Ch Prasad and Satyavathi of Vambay Colony, went missing on July 9. His parents lodged a complaint with the Nunna police on July 11. On July 12, the boy’s body was found in Polavaram canal at P Nainavaram.Dharmendra said the boy’s parents suspected his uncle G Suryanarayana alias Suri in Tarun’s murder. Suri is also staying with Tarun’s family as his wife deserted him as he was addicted to the drinking vice.Suri who confessed to have killed Tarun before the community elders, said he bore a grudge against Prasad for supporting the decision taken by his wife, who deserted him. Suri said he took Tarun from his house on the pretext of buying chocolates for him. Later, he pushed the boy into Polavaram canal. The police took Suri into custody.
