Uttar Pradesh Police would effectively pursue pending cases against the elected representatives, in which charges have been framed in courts.

A review meeting held at the Prosecution Directorate of the state police today deliberated at length on the pending cases against members of Parliament -- Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and state legislatures -- Vidhan Sabha and Vidhan Parishad in which charges have already been framed in courts and decided to pursue them on a day-to-day basis so as to get them disposed of in an year's time, ADG, Prosecution, R N Singh, said.

A work plan in this regard has been chalked out at the directorate level which needs to be implemented at the level of districts by the prosecutors appointed in the courts, Singh said in an official release.
