Vanessa Hudgens' new look for a film

London: 'High School Musical' star Vanessa Hudgens is trading her bubblegum teen image for a new grunge avatar for her upcoming film Gimme Shelter.

The 23-year-old actress was spotted filming a major part of the movie in baggy jeans and t-shirts, with short and messy hair. She is made-under to look pale and under-nourished, reported Contactmusic.

Gimme Shelter is about a pregnant teenager who leaves her abusive mother's home and sets out to find her biological father. The film also stars Rosario Dawson and deals with teenage homelessness.

"I'm so excited and proud of the work I've been doing and let me tell you, you all are going to be SHOCKED with how I look in this movie, it's crazy sauce!" Hudgens posted on Facebook.
