We paid for our arrogance in the Lok Sabha polls, says Delhi CM Kejriwal
"Kiran Bedi is like my older sister. We will take help from her too. Ajay Maken has a long experience as a lawmaker. We will take his guidance as well," says Arvind Kejriwal.

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi at the historic Ramlila Maidan on Saturday. Kejriwal thanked the people for attending the swearing-in ceremony and for giving AAP such a huge mandate.

"Exactly one year ago on this day I had resigned. Now once again AAP is making a government. I did not know Delhi public loved me so much and gave me 67 seats," an elated Kejriwal said.

The new Delhi CM requested the media to refrain from asking him for a timeline within which he would complete the work he promised to accomplish. "Me and my ministers will work for 24 hours a day if the need arises," he assured.

Talking about the VIP culture in Delhi, Kejriwal promised to get rid of it.

He requested all his supporters to not get arrogant as the party had already once suffered in the Lok Sabha polls due to this reason. "God has already punished us for our mistake," said Kejriwal.

The Chief Minister also hit out against the church attacks in Delhi in the past few months. "Delhi will not tolerate this," he said. "Even though the Delhi Police does not fall under my jurisdiction, we will work to ensure security for all religions."

He moved on to assure all the businessmen that he would not make them pay any unfair dues and would ensure that they were not harassed by officials. At the same time, he requested everyone to pay their taxes.

He said that he had met the Prime Minister and had told him that he wanted constructive cooperation with the Centre. "For a long time, the BJP has been promising statehood for Delhi, but they haven't been able to get the chance. I have told the Prime Minister that this is the best time and opportunity to do so. Let us look after Delhi," said the new CM.

Addressing Kiran Bedi as his elder sister, Kejriwal said that he would take help from her whenever the need arised. "Ajay Maken has a long experience as a lawmaker. We will take his guidance too," said Arvind Kejriwal.
