Yahoo says Chief Operating Officer Henrique de Castro is leaving the company, effective Thursday.
In a Wednesday filing, the Internet company did not name a replacement or give a reason for de Castro's departure.
He was named Yahoo's COO in October 2012, three months after Marissa Mayer came on as CEO. Like Mayer, he had worked at Google before.
De Castro managed Sunnyvale, California-based Yahoo's sales, media, business development and operations.
