KOCHI: Junior Chamber International Cochin (JCI-Cochin) is organizing the ‘Youth Orator of Kochi (YOK-2011)’ to find out the best speaker among college students in and around Ernakulam. The competition will be held in both English and Malayalam categories. YOK-2011 will be inaugurated by mayor Tony Chammany on Saturday at Sacred Hearts College auditorium, Thevara at 9 am. Preliminary rounds will be held on the same day and 24 speakers (12 from each category) will be selected for the finals. Topic given for the prelims is ‘Role of Indian Youth Against Corruption’. Finalists will be given training in public speaking after the prelims by eminent trainers from JCI. The finals of YOK-2011 is scheduled to be held at Sacred Hearts College, Thevara on August 27, from 9 am to 1 pm. Eminent judges will evaluate the finalists and attractive cash awards in both Malayalam and English category will be given to the winners. JCI Cochin will issue merit certificates to all the finalists.
