CHITTOOR/TIRUPATI: Passers- by on Bazar street in Chittoor town were left shocked on Monday morning, when they found a person hanging from a telephone pole.The youth, P Karunaprakash Naidu (22) had ended his life reportedly depressed over the Tirupati police separating him from his lover.In the suicide note left behind, the victim blamed police for colluding with parents of the girl and separating them.“As I can’t imagine my life without her, I am taking the extreme step,” he wrote and demanded action against police.The youth also had the girl’s photograph in his pocket.According to police, Naidu of Yerrapapireddypalle is pursuing final year engineering at a private college near Tirupati.He fell in love with his classmate Chandana, who hails from Chittoor town.The couple eloped on January 17 and reportedly got married in Hyderabad.On January 19, they approached DGP V Dinesh Reddy seeking protection from the girl’s parents.Following directions from the DGP, Tirupati Urban SP J Prabhakara Rao held talks with parents of the couple and sent MR Palle SI B Suresh Kumar to Hyderabad to bring them back on January 21.When police arrived in the state capital, the girl refused to continue her life with Naidu.The police recorded her statement and sent both of them to their homes.Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in Tirupati, Chandana denied any relationship with Naidu.“I had no affair with him.He threatened to kill me and my parents and forced me to go to Hyderabad,” she said.After being informed about the suicide, a police team rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.A case has been registered.
