South Korean television music channel Mnet has dropped the first teaser of its upcoming survival show titled Build Up. The contestants who succeed in the show will get a chance to be a part of a new vocal boy group. Build Up is scheduled to air on January 26, 2024. There will be a total of 40 participants, many of whom are members of boy groups. They will be competing against one another to bag the coveted trophy in order to make their debut in the vocal group. Piquing the interest of the masses further, Mnet recently shared the teaser of Build Up on YouTube grabbing eyeballs.
Actress and model Lee Da-hee will be hosting the show Build Up. Some of the well-known contestants in the show include boy band PENTAGON member Yeo One, groups like AB6IX, KNK, WEi, VANNER, JUST B, CIX, ONE PACT, UP10TION, A.C.E, Newkidd, and BDC among others. According to Soompi, the members acting as judges in the show will be girl group Red Velvet’s artist, Wendy, MAMAMOO’s Solar, boy band BTOB’s Eunkwang, and singers Baekho, Lee Seok-hoon, and Kim Jae-hwan. With such a star-studded lineup of artists and judges, Build Up promises to be an exciting watch.
Build Up’s teaser opens with Lee Da-hee narrating the purpose of the show while placing block pieces one upon the other in various forms. She claimed that the new project will feature “voices with a wide variety of colors." While the faces of the contestants were not revealed, one could see the silhouettes of the 40 participants, standing on well-lit circular platforms. Lee Da-hee then moves on to assign a task to the viewers. She urges global K-pop lovers to guess the correct identities of the mysterious faces shown in the teaser. Glimpses of the contenders singing songs could also be heard in the video. The teaser concludes with the textual layout stating, “Who’s the Four?" generating a great amount of suspense.
While it was almost impossible to make out the faces of the individuals participating in Build Up, eagle-eyed K-pop fans claimed to have spotted singer Jay Chang in the teaser. He is a member of the boy band ONE PACT.
According to All K-pop, viewers can listen to the “voice silhouette" teasers of the 40 participants in Build Up from the fandom platform Mnet Plus. Based on the teasers available on the platform, they will be able to create their favourite formations.
