According to the Hindu calendar, the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month will start at 01:19 am on March 8 and will continue until 09:57 pm on that day.

People observe fasts or vrats on special occasions to pay obeisance and worship Gods. As per the Hindu Panchang, the Shukra Pradosh Vrat is on the day of Maha Shivratri. This will also be the first Pradosh fast of March and Phalgun. Usually, the pradosh fast is observed on the Trayodashi tithi of any month, while the Maha Shivratri fast is observed on Chaturdashi tithi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month.

This year, Trayodashi Tithi of Phalgun and Nishita Muhurta of worship of Maha Shivratri will coincide and happen on March 8. However, the Shukra Pradosh Vrat is observed in the evening after sunset. Now, Dr Ganesh Mishra, an astrologer at Central Sanskrit University, Puri, Odisha, has talked about the muhurat of both events.

When is Shukra Pradosh Vrat 2024?

According to the Hindu calendar, the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month will start at 01:19 am on March 8 and will continue until 09:57 pm on that day. After that, Chaturdashi Tithi of Maha Shivratri will start. Based on the puja time of the pradosh period, the pradosh fast of March is on Friday, March 8. Since the fast will be observed on Friday, it is known as Shukra Pradosh Vrat.

According to religious beliefs, those who observe Shukra Pradosh Vrat and worship Lord Shiva as per the rituals are blessed with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune in their lives.

Shukra Pradosh Vrat 2024: An Auspicious Time

The auspicious time for worship of Shukra Pradosh Vrat on March 8 is from 06:25 pm to 08:52 pm. The devotees will have the opportunity to worship and observe fasting for more than two hours.

Maha Shivratri 2024: Auspicious Time

In 2024, the Shukra Pradosh Vrat and Mahashivrati will coincide with each other. The auspicious time to perform the Maha Shivratri puja is from 12:07 am to 12:57 am. It has been reported that those devotees who observe a fast on March 8 and worship Lord Shiva will get the virtuous results of both Pradosh and Maha Shivratri.
