Animal: Ranbir Kapoor's Deleted Cockpit Scene From Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Film Goes Viral, Fans React
After eight months since its release, a viral scene from Ranbir Kapoor's Animal has taken the internet by storm.

Almost eight months have passed since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal,’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, and the buzz around the film shows no signs of dying down. The latest reason for its resurgence in the spotlight is a newly surfaced deleted scene that has captivated social media.

This deleted scene has left fans questioning why it was omitted from the final cut. The scene features a heavily intoxicated Ranbir Kapoor pouring himself another drink before making his way into the plane’s cockpit. In a dramatic twist, he pats the pilot on the shoulder, signaling him to vacate the seat.

The next moment is visually striking: Ranbir, now in the pilot’s chair, a cigarette dangling from his lips, while his gang looks on in amazement. The scene is notably devoid of dialogue, relying instead on the powerful score of the song ‘Papa Meri Jaan’ to enhance its intensity.

The scene was shared by a netizen on X with the caption, “not gonna forgive @imvangasandeep anna for removing this scene in the movie, it’s a pure display of Ranbir showing his silence and agony after k*lling his brother, especially that lifting off at the end #RanbirKapoor.”

This snippet has reignited discussions about the film and its creative choices, with many fans eager to see more of what didn’t make it to the screen. Several netizens reacted to the clip. One of them wrote, “Would love to see this movie’s director’s cut version @TSeries.” Another one commented, “We can also see his empty hands in this shot, Sandeep wanted to show he still had the knife he used to cut the throat in his hand till he reached his dad and then leave the knife in his dad’s hand.” Someone else opined, “This scene of the plane ascending symbolizes the story reaching new heights from here on.

You can also see a similar shot in the movie when the plane was about to hit a mountain, and takes off. And the story takes off to the next level. @imvangasandeep is a MAD Genius. Period.”

Released on December 1, 2023, Animal revolved around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film showed Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gun down 200 people with machine gun. However, despite his efforts, he struggled to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). The film was a box office success and earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide.

However, the film was also slammed by many who argued that the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial was toxic and misogynistic. Recently, Javed Akhtar also cited Animal while he was addressing the concept of the ‘angry young man’ in films, stating that expressing irrational anger that isn’t directed at anything specific starts to turn the character into a caricature.
