Ariana Grande Comes Out In Boyfriend Ethan Slater's Defence: 'People Believe The Worst Version'
Ariana Grande recently addressed the rumours about her relationship with Wicked movie co-star Ethan Slater.

After a long time of ongoing rumours, Ariana Grande has broken her silence on her relationship with her upcoming Wicked movie co-star Ethan Slater. The Grammy award winner slammed tabloids for their frivolous coverage of her love life. Last year, it was suggested by some reports that Grande and Slater were in a relationship after leaving their partners which sparked the infidelity rumours. However, it was later clarified that Grande and Slater’s romance began only after they had ended their previous marriages.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Grande slammed the tabloids’ portrayal of her and Slater. While the singer shared that she will “never go into certain details” about her relationship with Slater, Grande expressed disappointment seeing “so many people believe the worst version of it.” Talking about Slater and Wicked, she said, “Of course, I went through a lot of life changes during the filming of this movie. A lot of people that were working on it did. We were away for two years. So, of course, I understand why it was a field day for the tabloids to sort of create something that paid their bills.”

Grande opened up about the challenges she and Ethan Slater faced, remarking, “That was definitely a tough ride.” In a defense of her boyfriend, she emphasised that the tabloids’ portrayal of him “couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being.” “No one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. There is no one on this earth with a better heart, and that is something that no (expletive) tabloid can rewrite in real life,” she added.

The singer also discussed the ongoing struggle with negative media attention, stating that handling the negativity from unreliable tabloids has become challenging for her and “doesn’t get any easier.” She alleged that these tabloids have been targeting her since she was 19. “I’m 31 years old and I’m not a perfect person, but I am definitely deeply good, and I’m proud of who I’m becoming. I will never let disreputable evil tabloids ruin my life or my perception of what is real and good,” she said.

Grande married Dalton Gomez in 2021 but filed for divorce in 2023, with their separation finalised in March. On the other hand, Slater, who married Lilly Jay in 2018, also finalised his divorce this year.

In the upcoming film Wicked, Grande takes on the role of Galinda while Slater portrays Boq, a Munchkin. Directed by Jon M Chu, this musical fantasy film is set to hit theatres on November 22.
