Vivek Oberoi gave a tour of his unique Mumbai house that has been designed in the style of a Goan farmhouse.

Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi is a firm believer of the concept that the atmosphere one’s house mirrors one’s individuality, In a recent chat with Urban Company, he revealed the interiors of his Mumbai residence styled like a Goan farmhouse, which he and his spouse, Priyanka Alva Oberoi, deliberately crafted to reflect their life together.

The tour began with Vivek introducing his pet cow, Kamadhenu, and discussing how her presence brings a rustic, village feel to the house. He mentioned, “This place belongs more to her than to me. The scent of the cowshed transports you from the city to a quaint village.”

The home, adorned with wooden furniture, elegant chandeliers, prominent portraits of Goddess Lakshmi, and an abundance of indoor plants, radiates a farmhouse aura, aligning with the actor’s aim. He explained their philosophy of sustainability and deep connection, saying, “The idea was for this home to originate from Priyanka and me, embodying our lives. When purchasing this house, we wanted it to mirror Goa. Inside, it captures the very essence of farmhouse living.”

While navigating the living room and bedroom, Vivek highlighted their antique collection, sharing his affection for historically rich items. He pointed to the bedroom’s antique bed, noting its long-standing presence in Priyanka’s family and his own sentimental attachment to it. “This bed, present in Priyanka’s family for decades, evokes my cherished memories of coziness and security from childhood stories shared by my grandmother.”

Vivek also emphasized their aim to meld nature with architectural design, pointing out the tall, lush trees that frame the vast house windows. Concluding the tour in his backyard, he admitted a fondness for its rustic imperfections, such as exposed pipes and a tap, appreciating their quirky charm.

Reflecting on his lifestyle shift from illusion to authenticity, Vivek shared, “In the film industry, where everything is designed to be ostentatious, I return home not as actor Vivek Oberoi, but simply as myself.”

Vivek Oberoi was recently seen in Amazon Prime Video’s Indian Police Force. The web series is a spinoff of filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s celebrated cop universe which includes films like Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi among others. It also featured Shilpa Shetty, Sidharth Malhotra, Isha Talwar among the stellar cast.
