Jennie, the ever-popular BLACKPINK star, delighted fans with the news that her latest single Mantra on Monday. It will be released on October 11. Along with the announcement, Jennie shared a fun, flirty teaser for the track, which gives fans a taste of what’s to come. This exciting update arrives just weeks after Jennie made waves by signing a new deal with Columbia Records. In the teaser clip, Jennie is biting into a cherry and giving the camera a playful wink while singing, “It’s not that deep/I’m not that drunk/Sometimes girls just gotta have fun.”
She continues with, “Throw it back, all that ass/Me and my sis, we’re too attached. It’s not that deep, we’re not that dumb/Look at them bodies on the run//Inside glowing like the sun,” capturing the fun, confident energy fans love about her. The teaser pauses for a moment as Jennie, with a flirty smile, declares, “You’re gonna feel this every day.”

This single comes nearly 10 months after Jennie first revealed that she was starting a solo career. Soon after that, she launched her new label, Odd Atelier. According to her, Odd Atelier is all about “creating new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.” The label aims to set Jennie apart from her BLACKPINK persona, allowing her to explore her own artistic vision. Earlier this month, Columbia Records also announced their partnership with Odd Atelier, reports Rolling Stone.
Mantra will follow her previous solo single, You & Me, which was released in October 2023. She also joined forces with Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd on the song One of the Girls for the HBO show The Idol in 2023. This year, Jennie also collaborated with Matt Champion on the track Slow Motion and worked with Zico on the single Spot!
Jennie’s first-ever solo release, Solo, debuted back in 2018 and became an instant hit.
As for the rest of her BLACKPINK bandmates, they’ve been busy with their own projects. Lisa made headlines by releasing singles New Woman with Rosalia in August and Rockstar earlier this summer. Jisoo spent her summer completing filming for two Korean movies, and Rose has also made moves, signing a global solo deal with Atlantic Records just last week.
All the members seem to be pursuing their individual careers while continuing to support each other, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled to see what’s next for the group and their solo endeavours.
