The beloved actor and chief Sena leader is currently recuperating at a critical care hospital in Mumbai after he accidentally shot himself. The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 AM on October 1 while he was checking the revolver at home.

Mohanraj, the renowned Malayalam actor celebrated for his iconic portrayal of the villain ‘Keerikkadan Jose’ in Mohanlal’s classic film Kireedam, passed away on October 3 at the age of 61. He breathed his last at his residence in Kanjirankulam, Kerala. The news was confirmed by actor-director P Dinesh Panicker, who took to Facebook to express his grief. “The villain in Kireedam… Mohanraj, who portrayed Keerikkadan Jose, is now a memory,” Panicker wrote, recalling their time together in films like Cheppu, Kilukkam Changathi, Rajaputhran and Aram Thampuran.
