Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has turned 39 years old today. Hailing from a business-oriented family, she is now a well-known name in Hindi films. Before gaining fame in the film industry, Nushrratt used to work full-time in the TV industry. She started her career with the serial Kittie Party in 2002. Apart from Hindi, she also did many TV shows in the Telugu language. However, she got real recognition after appearing in films. Nushrratt started her career with the film Jai Santoshi Maa in 2006. After a couple of films, she finally got her breakthrough with the film Love Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010. It was directed by Dibankar Banerjee and produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of ALT Entertainment. In the following year, Nushrratt Bharuccha gave another superhit with Kartik Aaryan, Pyaar Ka Punchnama. After giving a couple of hits, Nushrratt Bharuccha gave a series of flops with films like Akaash Vani Darr @ the Mall and Meeruthiya Gangsters. Due to this, Nushrratt Bharuccha lost her roles in blockbuster movies like Slumdog Millionaire. In an interview, she admitted that she was initially approached for Anil Kapoor’s film Slumdog Millionaire but later the makers rejected her. Director Danny Boyle apologised to Nushrratt Bharuccha and said that she was a wonderful actress, but unfit for the lead role in his film.
In 2015, she again joined hands with her lucky charm Kartik Aaryan for the sequel of Pyaar Ka Punchnama. It proved to be her first superhit, earning more than Rs 88 crore at the box office.
After the release of Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Nushrratt Bharuccha did not get any film for 3 years. During this period, she turned towards South films but did not get any success there either. She worked in the film Valeba Raja in 2016. This Tamil film was directed by Sai Gokul Ramanath. She reportedly went into depression during these three years. But her best years were yet to come.
After three years, Nushrratt’s career once again flourished and she got a blockbuster film in her kitty. In 2018, she gained immense popularity after playing a grey-shade character in Luv Ranjan and Bhushan Kumar’s rom-com Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety opposite Kartik Aryan and Sunny Singh. This film earned Rs 200 crore worldwide.Its earnings at the Indian box office was around Rs 150 crore. It became the first Rs 100 crore film of Nushrratt Bharuccha’s career.
In the following year, Nushrratt starred in the film Dream Girl with Ayushmann Khurrana. This film won the hearts of the audience and became the second 100-crore film of the actress’s career. The actress was last seen in the film Akelli.
