Double iSmart, the Ram Pothineni-starrer action thriller, has been creating a lot of buzz on social media. Helmed by the renowned director Puri Jagannadh, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Kavya Thapar in the lead roles. The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Telugu action film iSmart Shankar. As fans await the release of the film, it is reported that the makers of Double iSmart have already made a profit of Rs 100 crore, even before its theatrical release on August 15. Going by the reports, the worldwide theatrical rights for the upcoming sequel have been sold for a whopping Rs 60 crore. Apart from this, it is reported that the audio rights deal has been locked for Rs 9 crore, Rs 33 crore for south digital rights and another Rs 50 crore for satellite rights (Telugu and Hindi) along with Hindi digital. This means, the film has already minted around Rs 150 crore even before its release, by just selling their rights.
No official confirmation has been received about this yet.
Double iSmart is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 45-50 crore. The film is produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmy Kaur, under the banner of Puri Connects. The music is composed by Manisharma and the cinematographers are Gianni Giannelli and Shyam K Naidu, while Karthika Srinivas serves as the editor.
Recently, the makers of Double iSmart unveiled the second track of the film Maar Muntha Chod Chinta which received massive responses from the fans.
The Puri Jagganadh-directorial will be having a pan-India release and will hit the theatres in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
Ram Pothineni is known for his work in the Telugu film industry. He has appeared in films like Ready, Kandireega, iSmart Shankar, Hyper, Hello Guru Prema Kosame and others.
Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, will be next seen in the comedy-drama Ghudchadi, a Punjabi film Sheran Di Kaum Punjabi, Dhruva Sarja’s KD- The Devil and director Aditya Dhar’s upcoming directorial alongside Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna.
