It's A Wrap For Suresh Gopi's Malayalam Film Varaham

The creators of the Malayalam movie Varaham have confirmed the completion of filming for the mystery drama. Suresh Gopi, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Gautham Vasudev Menon are starring in the lead roles. Directed by Sanal V Devan, the film is scheduled for release in April.

Varaham marks Suresh Gopi’s highly anticipated 257th project, with Navya Nair playing the female lead. Additionally, reports suggest that a prominent Bollywood actress will have a significant role in the film.

Movie enthusiasts and fans of the actor have been eagerly awaiting the film, especially since the makers have revealed very little about the plot and characters. The revelation that Suresh Gopi will portray a role unlike any he has played before in his career only adds to the anticipation. “People typically assume that the actor will portray a police officer or an investigator in a Suresh Gopi film," Sanal mentioned in an interview. “However, Suresh Gopi will not be portraying a police officer in this thriller," he further clarified.

The screenplay for the mystery drama is written by Manu C Kumar, the director of Sesham Mikeil Fathima. He shared that the Varaham would not feature typical mass scenes or investigation sequences. Additionally, he revealed that after providing the one-liner to Suresh Gopi, the screenplay was completed and properly formatted within a month.

Filming for the movie commenced in Ernakulam on December 18, 2023. The shooting locations included Idukki, Kollengode in Palakkad and Ernakulam. Varaham is being produced by Vineet Jain and Sanjay Padiyoor under the banners of Maverick Movies Private Limited and Sanjay Padiyoor Entertainments. Rajasingh and Krishnakumar serve as the executive producers. Rahul Raj has composed the soundtracks for the mystery thriller, while Ajay David Kachappilly is handling the cinematography and Mansoor Muthutty is editing the film.

A video showcasing the making of Varaham is currently trending on social media. The footage highlights the movie’s camera and stunt crew members, with a focus on stunt artist Thavasi Raj. Notably, the video does not include any of the main cast members, as the filmmakers opted not to reveal their appearances in the film. Indrans is the sole recognisable actor featured in the behind-the-scenes video of Varaham.
